Mid-July, the rain season in Tokyo should have been well over, but unfortunately it was showing now signs of ever lifting. In spite of that the team decided that Zushi was an ideal place to shoot a summer editorial at the beach.
The editorial theme for this beach photoshoot would have to be everyone’s favourite colour of the season – beige.
We rented a small house for prepping, and as the whole makeup and hair process guided by three amazing hair and makeup artists was well underway, the worst happened – the rain had started.
Right there we’ve decided that the best strategy would be to wait the drizzle out and start with the gorgeous garden in front of the house, which was quite minimalist and matching with our theme for the day, but without the sea in the background or sand.
And just when we thought that the rain was as light as it was going to get that day, a downpour broke out and we had to bring the whole shoot inside. Luckily for us, the house was the most beautiful minimalist beach house you could ever find.
